Job Description:
The OB/Perinatal Scheduler acts as a resource to the OB Team and to the Perinatal Services Manager. The Scheduler assists patients by accurately checking insurance information and updating system demographics. The OB Scheduler makes patient confirmation calls, schedules appointments, and processes schedule changes. The OB Scheduler schedules all prenatal intakes and newborn, 1 month, and 2 month appointments for health center providers and confirms all prenatal appointments through 20 weeks at the time of the Intake, and schedules all remaining prenatal appointmentsupon receipt of thePrebooking Form. The Scheduler is available to OB Providers and OB Advocates for urgent scheduling needs. In addition, the Scheduler will handle referrals requests for prenatal and perinatal patients, including newborns and children through 2 years of age, supported by the Advocates in Maternal Child Health and attends OB Meetings.
Educational Requirements:
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED with relevant work experience. Two to four years college preferred. Medical Office Administration certificate preferred.
Experience Required:
Two years relevant work experience required including demonstrated customer service, and accurate/timely data entry.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports directly to the Perinatal Services Manager.
