Job Description:
The Staff Physician – Walk-In Center/Urgent Care will participate fully in the care of patients seen in the Walk-In Center for same day appointments and urgent care.
Educational Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
Experience Required:
Family Practice Residency or Med/Peds Residency required; A minimum of two years of experience in treatment and care of all members of family unit required; experience in urgent care setting or emergency room preferred. Experience in the role of Primary Care Physician preferred.
Professional Licensure/Special Skills and Certification Required:
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics (Med/Peds). Must have current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Registration for Medicine, current DEA/MA Controlled Substance Registration; BLS required.
Must be able to work evenings, rotate for weekend and holiday shifts.

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders and other regulatory agencies.
• Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center’s patient population preferred, but not required.
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities.
• Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.
• Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.
• Processes personal health information in accordance with FHCW HIPPA policies and procedures.
