Position Summary:
The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for overseeing employee health programs, ensuring workplace safety, and supporting infection control measures. This role includes conducting employee vaccinations and testing, providing health-related training, overseeing onboarding health compliance, and assisting the Nursing Director with administrative and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Health & Safety Program:
- Administer employee vaccinations and conduct required health screenings, including TB testing, fit testing, and other compliance-related health measures.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding employee health (e.g., OSHA, CDC, FQHC-specific guidelines).
- Manage employee health records and ensure documentation is up to date.
- Coordinate post-exposure follow-ups and manage return-to-work clearances.
Training & Education:
- Develop and conduct employee training on infection control, bloodborne pathogens, workplace safety, and other occupational health topics.
- Provide ongoing education regarding vaccination protocols, workplace ergonomics, and emergency response procedures.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding health and safety concerns.
Onboarding & Compliance:
- Oversee new employee health screenings, including vaccinations, TB testing, and other required health assessments.
- Ensure all employees meet health compliance requirements outlined in contracts and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure timely updates for credentialing and audits.
Vaccination & Testing Program:
- Coordinate and administer vaccinations for employees, including influenza, COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and other required immunizations.
- Conduct routine and exposure-based testing, including PPD, COVID-19, and respiratory fit testing.
- Track and report immunization and testing compliance for employees.
Support to the Nursing Director:
- Assist the Nursing Director with clinical and administrative duties related to employee health and safety.
- Participate in policy development and improvement initiatives regarding infection control and occupational health.
- Collaborate with HR, Compliance, and other departments to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Work Environment:
This position involves working in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of supplies or equipment.
