Family Health Clinic is a rapidly growing primary/immediate care practice that is open 7 days a week with extended hours. Our diverse family of providers and staff take pride in practicing complete and comprehensive medicine by treating the entire patient, not just the problem. As a primary care practice, we serve patients of all ages including children, adolescence, adults, and geriatrics.
Family Health Clinic is hiring a Front Office Assistant to help with the organization and running of the daily administrative front desk operations of the company. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, professional, able to undertake a variety of office support tasks, and work diligently under pressure. This person will need to be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion.
All candidates will be required to float between our practice locations.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors to the medical office.
- Answer and transfer phone calls.
- Schedule appointments.
- Assist patients with insurance and billing questions.
- Verify patient insurance.
- Record and collect patient balances and co-payments, set-up payment plans, and post payments accordingly within an Electronic Medical Record System (eClinicalWorks).
- Practice confidentiality and privacy protocols with respect to FHC policies and HIPAA requirements.
- Maintain patient accounts by updating personal and financial information.
- Clean, sanitize and maintain office files and front-desk areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent *Required
- Experience with insurance verification and billing.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks) *Preferred.
- Organizational and time management skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Incoming/Outgoing phone call management skills
- Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information
- Hands on experience with medical software and MS Office
- 1-3 years of experience medical office receptionist experience
- Bilingual Spanish *Preferred.
