Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator at Family Life Services

Position Objective
The Volunteer Manager has responsibility for effectively meeting the volunteer goals that advance the mission of Family Life Services, as determined by the Executive Director. The primary areas of responsibility are volunteer recruitment and deployment.
Position Responsibilities
Recruitment
1. Find and use a variety of platforms to spread the word about volunteer opportunities at FLS.
2. Follow up on all inquiries about volunteer opportunities by individuals and groups.
a. For individuals, interview, complete background check, and create match for skills and time available.
b. For groups, find mutually acceptable projects and dates.
3. Work with Community Relations Manager to recruit volunteers from partner churches.
Deployment
1. With Community Relations Manager, grow FLS’ strategic deployment of volunteers to meet needs of FLS.
2. Coordinate and supervise volunteer groups
a. Share mission of FLS and invite group volunteers into higher level of engagement with FLS. Give tours of 2-acre campus to groups/individuals.
b. With the Operations Manager, coordinate projects and all logistics to set up volunteers for a successful experience.
c. Supervise execution of work by volunteer groups.
d. Input volunteer records into digital platform
4. Warmly transfer approved, individual volunteers to appropriate staff supervisor.
5. With Community Relations Manager, coordinate volunteer appreciation and other methods of expanding volunteers’ connection and support to FLS and its mission.
6. Coordinate and execute City Serve day and seasonal increase of volunteers (such as Christmas and summer).
Other duties, as needed and directed by the Community Relations Manager. This position requires in person hours on Monday evenings, 4:30 – 7:00, and 4 – 6 hours on approximately 8 Saturdays per year.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements: office environment and in community.
Knowledge, Experience, Skills Required
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
2. Strong interpersonal communication, public speaking

Position Benefits
1. Twenty hours of PTO per year and .25 paid holidays.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
