Come join a successful Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program! Our busy health center in Temperance, Michigan has a full time opportunity for an experienced Peer Support/Recovery Specialist!
We are looking for a peer support specialist who has personal lived experience with substance use disorder, who has a successfully maintained recovery for at least 2 years.
The Peer Support/Recovery Specialist will utilize their personal experiences as a primary consumer of SUD rehabilitation to relate to consumers using our services in a positive, impactful way
The Peer Support/Recovery Specialist will support the consumer in accessing community resources; in developing recovery plans as well as providing education on sustainable substance use recovery.
Monday - Friday full time position.
$400 Sign-On Bonus
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as peer support specialist
- Personal “Lived” Experience as a primary consumer in recovery from substance use required
- Minimum two year of solid recovery from all substances required (per new state peer support training requirements)
- Customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Drivers’ License and current auto insurance
