12p - 8pm Rotating Weekends

$20 - $25.00/Hour (based on experience)

, the fastest growing organization providing treatment for substance use and mental health disorders in Northwest Ohio, is seeking a Full-Time Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)! Qualified applicants must be motivated, compassionate and energetic, with the ability to adapt and problem-solve potential issues.


Position Summary:

The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) is responsible for providing milieu management as well as providing valuable support, mentorship, and advocacy to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders or mental health challenges. Your role will involve building trusting relationships, assisting clients in developing and sustaining their recovery goals, and promoting overall wellness and community integration. The CPRS will help clients increase their knowledge and skills through developing peer relationships that support and promote recovery, resiliency and wellness

The CPRS will work alongside the Clinical treatment team to ensure life skills improvement and long-term sobriety for clients with behavioral health and substance use disorder diagnoses.

The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) position requires experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment. This position will require driving company vehicle(s), including multi-passenger vans to transport clients and providing services at the treatment center and in the community (recovery housing).


Job Functions/Duties:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


Peer Support and Mentoring:

  • Offer one-on-one peer support and counseling to individuals in their recovery journey.
  • Utilize personal lived experience to provide empathy, understanding, and hope to clients.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor by sharing personal recovery experiences and strategies.

Recovery Planning and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with clients to create individualized recovery plans that address their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide guidance and resources to support clients in implementing their recovery plans.
  • Encourage the use of evidence-based practices and strategies to promote sustained recovery.

Advocacy and Connection to Resources:

  • Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, legal system, and community.
  • Facilitate access to community resources, such as housing, employment, education, and healthcare services.
  • Help clients navigate the complex healthcare and social service systems to ensure continuity of care.

Peer-led Support Groups and Workshops:

  • Organize and facilitate peer-led support groups and workshops to foster a sense of community and belonging.
  • Develop and deliver educational presentations and workshops on topics related to addiction and recovery.
  • Coordinate with other agencies and organizations to expand access to support groups and educational opportunities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding client confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Provide regular reports on program activities and outcomes to supervisors and stakeholders.

General Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients and staff.
  • Driving company vehicle(s), including multi-passenger vans to transport clients and providing services at the treatment center and in the community (recovery housing).

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience in coordinating client care and assisting clients with behavioral health disorders and substance use disorders, including Medication-Assisted Treatments.
  • Must possess the ability to educate clients and the community on health issues and promote overall wellness.
  • Must possess conflict management and crisis intervention experience and skills, as well as possess the ability to effectively apply problem-solving skills while providing real time solutions.
  • Must possess interpersonal and interprofessional collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, meet deadlines, and communicate challenges effectively.
  • Must possess a compassionate, relationship-based, and trauma-informed approach.
  • Must possess high ethical standards, and the ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material and situations.
  • Knowledge of Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Gmail, Chat, Spaces, Keep, Tasks, Calendar, and Meet).

License:

  • Required: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and insurance with clean driving record (required).
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen (required).
  • Familiarity with community resources, support services, and evidence-based practices related to recovery.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Minimum of one (1) years of experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment is preferred (not required), or lived experience with substance use disorders or mental health challenges and stable personal recovery.
