**Job Summary:**
We are seeking multiple Direct Care Staff to join our team for a full-time position at our facility in Watertown, CT. As part of our team, you will provide habilitative assistance and care to clients in various programs, including community and supported living arrangements, family support services program, and day/vocational program. Responsibilities include direct daily care, teaching, supervising clients, and maintaining accurate records. Must have a valid driver's license. Be willing to pick up shifts
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide direct supervision to clients, ensuring their safety and awareness of their status and location.
- Assist in preparing and implementing each client's Individualized Plan of Service or Individual Educational Plan, including teaching, supervising, and assisting with daily living activities.
- Monitor client progress on goals, implement behavioral plans, and follow occupational, physical, and speech therapist recommendations.
- Develop recreation and community participation activities for clients and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping of services provided and attend required meetings, in-services, and trainings.
**Qualifications:**
- Completion of Medication Certification Program.
- Completion of PMT, CPR, and First Aid training.
- Possession of a valid CT driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals facing developmental and/or behavioral challenges preferred.
**Physical Demands:**
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and exert force when initiating physical restraint procedures.
- Must have good communication skills and physical abilities such as standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and arms effectively.
**Language and Mathematical Skills:**
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Strong mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
**Reasoning Ability:**
- Ability to understand and execute instructions effectively.
- Capable of managing issues involving several variables.
Our programs adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, where staff must comply with all DDS and DPH COVID-19 guidelines for developmental disabilities workers, including the use of masks and PPE during shifts.
