We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our one-doctor practice. In this role, you will provide essential support to our veterinarian, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to animals in a close-knit and personalized environment. You will assist with various medical procedures, monitor the well-being of pets, and help maintain a clean and safe clinic environment. Your expertise in veterinary terminology and animal care will be invaluable in providing exceptional service to our clients and their beloved pets.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the team and clients.
- Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both pets and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarian.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Prepare animals for surgery, such as catheterization.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines.
- Provide post-operative care and monitor animals during recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and grooming practices.
- Answering phone calls
- Checking in and out patients
- Scheduling appointment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and critical care practices.
- Proficiency in animal catheterization, laboratory procedures, and animal restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with X-ray equipment and procedures is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for animal welfare.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
