Position Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Financial Operations
- Code and process vendor invoices and internal payment requests, especially for rental and client-related expenses.
- Ensure payments meet documentation, approval, and compliance requirements.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain financial records and assist with internal reports and audits.
Landlord & Case Manager Support
- Serve as the liaison between landlords, case managers, and finance staff.
- Provide timely updates and clarify payment timelines and processes.
- Ensure a smooth and responsive payment experience for stakeholders.
Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Track expenditures and allocate them to appropriate funding sources.
- Follow HUD and other funding compliance guidelines.
- Assist with reports for grants, donors, and leadership.
Team Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payment processes and workflows.
- Support budgeting and forecasting within the finance team.
- Engage in cross-departmental collaboration to align operations with impact.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial/data role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Calendar).
- Familiarity with cross-platform data handling and software integrations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Clear and compassionate communicator, both written and verbal.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment and shift gears across tasks and teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with nonprofit or fund-based accounting.
- Familiarity with housing programs, landlord relations, or client assistance services.
- Knowledge of federal grant compliance guidelines (COC, CHG/SDG, HUD, etc.).

- Active mobility for up to 45 min at a time
- Move, lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds in accordance with State of Washington Labor & Industry standards
- This position will be completed under the following conditions.
- Located on site at the Family Promise Administrative Offices (primarily indoors in an office and/or shelter environment)
- May be chaotic, busy and loud at times
- Use of cleaning chemicals
- Although this position has limited client interaction, client population may include persons involved in gangs, with substance abuse concerns, and homelessness
