Position Title: Eviction Prevention Intake
SpecialistFLSA Status: Part-Time | Hourly /Nonexempt
Location: On-Site at Family Promise Center
Schedule: Weekdays, some flexibility
At Promise of Spokane, our mission is to equip families and communities to end homelessness. We have helped over 106 families, over 300 people in our communities find stable housing this year so far. Position Overview:The Eviction Prevention Intake Specialist will be a key part of our Prevention Team, assisting applicants in accessing vital rental assistance and related services. In this role, you will engage with applicants via phone, email, and virtual platforms to assess eligibility, collect required documentation, and provide navigation services to help them successfully apply for assistance. The ability to communicate empathetically with applicants, advocate on their behalf with landlords, and manage detailed records is crucial to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess applicants for eligibility in the Rental Assistance program.
- Process applications according to program guidelines and procedures.
- Guide applicants through the application process, including helping with documentation and technology.
- Communicate with landlords and property managers to obtain necessary information.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all steps of the application process are followed.
- Provide timely follow-up with applicants regarding their application status.
- Collaborate with the Eviction Prevention and Stabilization team to move cases forward.
- Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and compliance with all federal and state laws.
- Participate in agency meetings and training.
What You Bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in customer service, ideally working with diverse and underserved populations.
- Experience with online customer systems and technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate problem-solving and the willingness to support families through difficult situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or technical training in a related field.
- Experience with case management and housing support services in Spokane County.
- Familiarity with diversion and prevention models.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Wage starts at $20.00/hour and increases from there DOE
