About the Role
FAMILY RESOURCES seeks an experienced Nonprofit Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit accounting, with expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Job Summary
This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week. The salary for this role is $62,000 per year, plus comprehensive benefits including medical insurance, life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, PTO, and floating holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Review and analyze monthly invoicing to funders, as well as quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reporting.
- Assist the VP of Finance with month-end close, preparation of financial statements, and review of revenue and expenses.
- Collaborate with funder auditors and external CPA firms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform other accounting and finance functions as requested by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including cost reimbursement grants.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent attention to detail.
