The Position:
The FSS Family Relationships Facilitator will teach parenting and relationship workshops to help families build skills to improve their relationships for more fulfilling lives. This is an exciting position that can have a direct impact on families? wellbeing and help parents create better futures for their children. In our educational programs, the facilitator will help parents to strengthen fathering skills and relationship skills, understand developmental milestones, manage stress, and build inclusive and nurturing environments. The facilitator will work with teammates to actively connect with community partners, participate in community events to recruit participants to the program, and will help shape the program through ongoing feedback. This position requires working some evenings and occasional weekends. Join our team with a home office located in either Santa Maria or Lompoc, depending on your preference! We?re seeking a candidate who is flexible and eager to travel throughout the county to meet the needs of our programs.

Sample Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach workshops in person and virtually, focusing on healthy relationships and parenting skills through our educational programs.
- Attend curriculum trainings as needed to gain knowledge in the program?s content and teaching methods.
- Actively participate in outreach and recruitment (such as community outreach and presentations) to engage families for scheduled workshops.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide holistic care to families.
- Coordinate workshops with co-facilitator and community partners to best meet family?s needs. This includes adjusting lessons or activities to the diverse learning styles and being sensitive to cultural norms.
- Complete program documentation and participant information as required by FSS and the funder.
- Help parents to improve parenting and relationship skills through good communication, self-reflection, managing stress, and understanding developmental milestones.
- Demonstrate knowledge of local resources and provide information and referral when warranted
