Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8-5; some on-call work
Position Summary
The Crisis Clinician/Educator will facilitate crisis intervention sessions for children in immediate crisis that could have intensive emotional and/or behavioral symptoms. These sessions will focus on safety planning and keeping the youth in the least restrictive environment. This position will facilitate hospital and YCRC admissions when appropriate during these sessions. This could involve on-call work and may occur in the home or in a community setting. The Crisis Clinician/Educator will also be responsible for providing and maintaining the educational needs of persons served in the YCRC coordinating with local school districts and case managers assigned to the team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete admission assessments per agency procedure for all new or returning individuals served.
- Provide individual, family and group therapy to youth, adults and families.
- Meet productivity expectation of Family Service & Guidance Center.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention with individuals.
- Participate in weekly team meetings for the purpose of case assignments, case review, individual case planning and collaboration with team members.
- Complete clinical documentation (admission assessments, progress notes, 90-day progress reviews, referrals for other services, etc.) in compliance with timeliness established by Family Service & Guidance Center’s Quality Assurance standards as well as those set by funding sources.
- Stay informed of agency developments by reviewing agency related written communication.
- Provide clinical oversight of clinical cases and direct treatment among multiple Family Service & Guidance Center providers when assigned the role of primary provider.
- Master’s or Doctoral Level Psychologists may be assigned the responsibility of completing psychological testing under the supervision of the licensed psychologist coordinating assessment services.
- Respect and demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of the people we serve.
- Act as an ambassador of Family Service & Guidance Center in the community setting. This may include doing public educational and informational presentations.
- Support and actively promote the vision and mission of Family Service & Guidance Center and the philosophy of the strength’s perspective.
- Oversee the educational needs of persons served in the YCRC.
- Assist with Coordination of educational needs with local school districts of persons served in the YCRC.
- Other duties as assigned as assigned as qualified and trained for.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure:
- Master’s degree in a recognized mental health discipline.
- Valid Teacher License through KSDE
- Valid license to practice in the state of Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
- Must successfully pass the KBI and DCF Central Registry and all other background investigations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.
- Active membership in professional organizations strongly encouraged.
- Experience working with adults, preferred.

Other Physical Requirements:
Clinicians must have sufficient ambulatory capabilities to work with children, adolescents and adults in the office setting. Position may require the ability to use physical holding (MAB) with children, adolescents and adults exhibiting out of control behaviors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office and Community-Based working environment; requires flexible schedule; frequent interruptions occur; expected to deal with individuals in crisis, potential risk of exposure to aggressive and/or acting out (verbal and physical) children, youth and adults.
