Overview

The Mental Health Clinic in Riverhead seeks a full-time Counselor to deliver high-quality individual and group therapy sessions to clients with diverse needs, including mental health and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments to identify client needs.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for adults, adolescents, and children with the full range of DSM diagnoses.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
• Coordinate treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Assess situations to determine importance, urgency, and risks, making clear decisions that benefit the organization.
• Set priorities, develop work schedules, and track progress towards goals.

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work required.
• LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or related licensed clinical degree required.
• Minimum one year of experience in a behavioral health setting; clinic experience preferred.
• Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records required.
