About the Position
Family Service League Inc. is seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work with families, caregivers, and communities to support early literacy, school readiness, and early opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of prior experience working with young children and parents in a community-based organization. They will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of experience working in human services. A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to complete a minimum of 16 hours of training delivered by the Supervisor prior to beginning home visits. They will also need to demonstrate knowledge of the community being served and possess proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
