SCHEDULE
Part-time hourly.
Up to 19 hours per week.
Evening and some holiday availability required.
SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner for the Mental Health Bay Shore program. The Nurse Practitioner will provide psychiatric assessment and medication management to children, adolescents and adults in a mental health clinic with co-occuring disorders. The Nurse Practitioner will provide telehealth through a secure, telemedicine platform and in-person.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Nurse Practitioner will conduct psychiatric and crisis assessments.
- Provide medication management to children, adolescents and adults with the full range of DSM diagnoses, including co-occurring disorders, in an acute care, outpatient setting.
- Ensure the health and safety of staff and clients during emergencies.
- Conduct health monitoring, including vital signs.
- Administer intramuscular injections as a back-up.
- Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record.
- Provide covering medications through telehealth or other means after hours.
- Attend routine supervision/team meeting.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft office.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree from a NP Program required.
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner in New York State required.
National Board Certification in specialty area, required; certification to be obtained prior to next re-credentialing review.
Collaborative practice agreement with a physician and designated protocols, both filed with the New York State Department of Education.
At least one year of experience relevant to the area of clinical practice required.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills required.
DEA credentials required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical records required.
