Job Description
At Family Service League Inc., we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Therapist to join our team at the Family Recovery Center in Bay Shore. As a key member of our staff, you will provide counseling services to individuals, groups, and families impacted by substance abuse.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions
- Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans
- Make accurate diagnoses and confer with supervisors as needed
- Develop and implement crisis plans and work with clients to achieve treatment goals
- Facilitate referrals and follow-up on services as necessary
- Collaborate with collateral family members and agencies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work or related field required
- LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, CASAC, or Limited Permit required
- Two years' experience working with substance use disorders preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
