We're Hiring!
We are seeking a Family Resource Specialist to join our team. This casual part-time position is based out of Door County and is responsible for assessing the strengths and needs of pregnant women and families with infants, determining service needs and providing information, connections, and linkages to a continuum of community services based on strengths and need. Hours for this position will be less than 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a primarily daytime schedule that will vary based on family, clinic, and hospital needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit hospital(s) and assemble list of parents. Conduct visits in the assigned hospital or home and contact all parents who have delivered to explain the benefits of participating in the program.
- Complete assessment on each parent accepting the interview in an organized and uniform manner.
- Assess family strengths and needs, determine program eligibility, and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Provide information on community resources.
- Build and maintain strong, professional working relationship with the hospital staff and other service providers.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Associate's degree in child development, communications, marketing or related field or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in child development, communications, marketing or related field or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Required: 1 year experience working with families, child abuse and neglect prevention, maternal/child health, or child development.
- Preferred: 2 years' experience working with families, child abuse and neglect prevention, maternal/child health, child development and/or home visitation.
Skills and Competencies:
- Advanced interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly with others.
- Acceptance of individual differences.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Ability to manage a flexible schedule to meet client needs, which may include evenings.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements.
