Family Solutions – Practice Management Solutions (FS-PMS) is looking for a high-caliber Medical Billing and Credentialing Specialist to join our administrative team.
FS-PMS is one of the largest behavioral health entities in North Louisiana. Our multidisciplinary team of treatment professionals provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health services across our four service divisions – Outpatient Behavioral Health, Autism Treatment, Pediatric Therapy, and Correctional Care. We currently staff over 85 treatment professionals at 21 treatment sites in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and Arizona.

Job Description: Medical Billing & Credentialing Specialist
Position: Medical Billing & Credentialing Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Director of Revenue
Job Summary:
The Medical Billing & Credentialing Specialist is responsible for facilitating the full revenue cycle and provider credentialing processes for a multidisciplinary behavioral health entity with four divisions: outpatient mental health clinics, autism treatment clinics, pediatric therapy clinics, and behavioral health services in correctional settings. This role ensures timely claims processing, maximized reimbursements, and provider compliance with payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle Management:
- Process and submit claims for behavioral health services across all divisions.
- Follow up on denied or underpaid claims, ensuring resolution and timely reimbursement.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure proper coding and documentation.
- Maintain compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance billing policies.
Credentialing & Provider Enrollment:
- Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing with insurance networks, Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care organizations.
- Complete and submit applications for new providers and facility enrollments.
- Maintain accurate records of licensure, certifications, and payer enrollments.
- Track credentialing deadlines and ensure timely renewals to avoid lapses in reimbursement.
- Communicate with payers to resolve credentialing issues and expedite approvals.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer regulations, and state licensing requirements.
- Maintain provider credentialing files and billing documentation for audits.
- Work with leadership to streamline credentialing and billing workflows.
Patient Billing & Collections:
- Generate and send patient statements, process payments, and manage collections.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries and financial assistance options.
- Reconcile patient accounts and resolve outstanding balances.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Monitor credentialing timelines and claim processing efficiency.
- Generate reports on accounts receivable, claim denials, and provider enrollment status.
- Provide recommendations for improving billing and credentialing processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2 years of experience in medical billing and provider credentialing, preferably in behavioral health, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for behavioral health services.
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer credentialing.
- Proficiency in EHR and billing software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for provider and payer interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in behavioral healthcare billing and provider enrollment.
- Familiarity with behavioral health, ABA therapy, and pediatric therapy payer credentialing requirements.
