Summary of PositionChild First Mental Health Clinician partners with a Family Resource Partner to engage families referred to the Child First home-based intervention. The primary goal is to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship as a protective buffer to stress and facilitate the childs emotional, language, and cognitive growth. The Clinician uses trauma-informed CPP, a relationship-based, dyadic, parent-child treatment model, focusing on the primary attachment relationships of the young child. The Clinician engages with caregivers and children in a supportive, reflective, and exploratory manner to foster a nurturing and responsive parent-child relationship. The Clinician provides consultation to early care and education settings and offers therapeutic interventions focusing on caregiver understanding of developmental challenges, reflective parenting, problem-solving, and psychodynamic relationships. Additionally, the Clinician participates in reflective clinical supervision, the Child First Learning Collaborative, and other clinical and administrative activities as needed.QualificationsQualifications include being a licensed or provisionally licensed Masters or Doctoral level mental health provider with experience working with culturally diverse children and families, including parent-child therapeutic work and play therapy with young children. Knowledge of relationship-based intervention, early child development, trauma effects on brain development, and community-level risk factors is required. Fluency in a second language is valued, along with a strong commitment to the vision and goals of Child First.
