What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Youth/Young Adult Transitional Programs position at Family Ties, Family Resource Services?
Full-Time Exempts/ Minimum Hours: 40
Responsibilities: responsible for creating and administrating the Transitional Housing Program, Drop-In Center Program, and case management for youth and young adults utilizing these programs. Responsible for educating, remediating, and enforcing policies and procedures with staff associated with these programs. Responsible for engaging in policy review as well as making recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team to add or adjust policies in accordance with our grant funders.
1. Administrative
- Responsible for the creation of Transitional Drop-In Center and Mueller House Programs, as well as collaborating with other agency programs to create beneficial programs that work in unison with the mission of these programs.
- Provides the overall administrative tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Transitional Housing and Drop-In Center Programs.
- Implements policies set forth by the Executive Leadership team.
- Integrates and coordinates Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management staff functions, delegates staff responsibilities, and supervises staff in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Implements Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management policies and procedures, coordinates workflow, and responsible for internal filing and reporting systems.
- Responsible to conduct quarterly conversations and evaluations of supervised staff.
2. Fiscal Functions
- Assists the Integrator or Executive Director in creating annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets for the Transitional Programs.
- Assists in creating, coordinating, and facilitating Transitional Housing Partnership Contracts, with the assistance if the Integrator and approval of the Executive Director.
- Assist Family Ties, Family Resource Services in community awareness, engagement, and fund-raising.
3. Monitoring/Evaluations
- Assist the Integrator in initiating and maintaining the monitoring/evaluation systems for both the programmatic and fiscal aspects of services funded by various sources in collaboration with the Director of Finance with the approval of the Executive Director.
- Assist in preparing timely and necessary reports and statistics associated with Transitional Programs and required by various funding sources.
- Assist in monitoring and revising statistical and case-related forms.
4. Planning Functions
- Assists Leadership Team in preparing a one & three - year comprehensive plan for the Transitional Housing Program and Drop-In Center Program, as well as recommending program and service development based on funding potential and community needs.
- Assist the Leadership Team with establishing goals and objectives within the one & three-year plan.
- Assist the coordination of Transitional Housing Contractors, schools, local police departments, and other referral agencies in the Family Ties coverage areas.
5. Community Relationship
- Participate in national, state, and local organizations concerned with Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and other Family Crisis issues.
- Network with community service providers to develop appropriate resources for clients, utilizing and of Family Ties' Services.
6. Staff Supervision
- Provide support and direction to Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management staff.
- Recommend training for Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management staff to Executive Leadership Team to ensure completion of training by Transitional Program staff.
- Ensure the accurate completion of documentation in client tracking, case updates, and Family Ties staff working in the Transitional Housing and Drop-In Center Programs.
- Monitor staff payroll, statistics, and record -keeping.
7. Direct Service
- Provide assistance for clients in completing necessary documents for services.
- Provide assistance and act as a liaison for Youth/Young Adult Transitional and Drop-In Center clients.
- Provide on call coverage on rotation for crisis line.
- Provide back-up crisis and case management for Family Ties clients.
8. Additional Duties assigned by the Family Ties Executive Leadership Team
- Some evenings and weekends required
- Participation in Violence Related Conferences, Workshops, and trainings required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field or 3 years minimum experience in the nonprofit, transitional programs, or social work sector.
- Meet background check requirements.
- Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
