What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth/Young Adult Transitional Programs Specialist Evening Shift position at Family Ties, Family Resource Services?
Hours: Non-Exempt; Evenings on Monday through Friday from 5:00pm - 11:00pm.
Responsibilities: The Youth/Young Adult Transitional Programs Specialist assists the Program Director in administrating the Transitional Housing Program, Drop-In Center, and case management for youth and young adults utilizing these programs for the agency. Guided by policies established by the Executive Leadership Team and grant funders.
Duties:
1. Administrative:
- Assist in performing the overall administrative tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Transitional Housing and Drop-In Center Programs.
- Assist with the implementation of policies set forth by the Executive Leadership Team.
- Assist Program Director in integrating and coordinating Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management staff functions, delegating staff responsibilities, and supervising staff in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Assist in establishing Transitional Housing, Drop-In Center, and Case Management policies and procedures, coordinating workflow, and be familiarized with internal filing and reporting systems.
2. Direct Services:
- Provide assistance for clients in completing necessary documents for services.
- Provide assistance and act as a liaison for participants of the Youth/ Young Adult Transitional and Drop- In Center clients.
- Provide on call coverage on rotation for crisis line.
- Provide back-up crisis and case management for Family Ties clients.
3. Fiscal Functions:
- Assist Program Director in recommending annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets for the Transitional Programs.
4. Monitoring/Evaluations:
- Assist Program Director in initiating and maintaining the monitoring and evaluation systems for both the programmatic and fiscal aspects of services funded by various sources in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team.
- Assist in preparing timely and necessary reports and statistics required by various funding sources.
- Assist in monitoring and revising statistical and case-related forms.
5. Planning Functions:
- Assist Director in preparing a one-year and three-year comprehensive plan for the Transitional Housing Program and Drop-In Center Program; recommending program and service development based on funding potential and community needs.
- Assist the Director with establishing goals and objectives within the one- and three- year plan.
- Assist the coordination of Transitional Housing Contractors, schools, local police departments, and other referral agencies in the Family Ties coverage areas.
6. Additional Duties assigned by the Family Ties Executive Leadership Team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3 years minimum experience in the nonprofit, transitional programs, or social work sector.
- Meet Background Check Requirements
- Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
