What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Youth & Adult Programs position at Family Wellness Fargo?
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the comprehensive adult, youth and active older adult activities of Family Wellness Fargo,
including Group Fitness, Training, Wellness, and Aquatics. This includes program development, budgeting,
financial outcomes, personnel management, and participant relations. These responsibilities should be
administered in accordance with the short and long-range organizational goals of Family Wellness, LLC.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Develop and execute short and long-term program strategies in conjunction with program managers to increase Family Wellness engagement and retention.
- Monitor and analyze participant data to ensure customer satisfaction and make programming decisions.
- Oversee the development and management of programs, including group fitness, training, aquatics, youth, and leagues.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement promotional and marketing strategies.
- Works with the Director of Administration, Executive Director, and managers to analyze and implement budget in accordance with yearly goals.
- Provides engaging and positive customer relations with participants and guests.
- Provides periodic reporting to the Director and leadership.
- Works with Development Manager to nurture relationships with community partners, schools, and local organizations to increase Family Wellness’ program presence.
- Provide leadership and personnel management to assigned managers, including evaluation, recognition, budget guidance, and program support.
- Identifies and makes recommendations for new process, new programs, and technology to improve and increase engagement in Family Wellness programs.
- Ensures that departmental decisions and programs are align with organization mission and vision.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience required. Master’s in
Education, Leadership, Business or related field is preferred. Knowledge of programming, long-term strategy
and customer relations required. Knowledge of fitness, wellness, and recreation programs is preferred. Must
be able to ideate, plan, and implement programming with staff for various populations. Must also possess
organization, communication, and leadership skills. Experience in the fitness club, health care, recreation, or
wellness field preferred. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ability to work
effectively with people of different backgrounds, effective public speaking skills, as well as being proficient in
Microsoft Office and computer software.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):
CPR/First Aid required within six months of hire.
National recreation or youth/adult programming licensure preferred.
Salary : $65,881 - $82,351
