Job Specific Competencies
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Two years of directly related experience is required and two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s)
Current certifications require Lifeguard Training, and CPR/AED and First Aid. Preferred to have American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification.

Position Purpose
Administer and provide direct leadership to all pool activities. This includes supervision of all related personnel, facilities, and equipment for the Aquatics department.
Job Specific Competencies
- Provides direct daily supervision of the Aquatics' department and staff to assure a high standard of safety and cleanliness and department objectives are being met.
- Is on deck directly monitoring swimming lesson activities, communicating with parents, and supervising all staff. Deals with all situations that arise, efficiently and professionally.
- Monitors swimming lesson instructor's performance, lesson plans and progress reports.
- Provides coverage for all aquatics' activities to ensure all shifts are covered.
- Assists the Aquatics Manager with the following duties:
- Interviewing, hiring, completing new hire paperwork, and training new staff.
- Ensuring comprehensive yearly performance reviews.
- Ensuring required staff certifications are up to date.
- Coordinating monthly staff meetings, trainings, and staff development. Also, performs spot checks and random lifeguard skill checks.
- Creating, communicating, and maintaining the aquatics staff schedule.
- Managing aquatics' special events including summer group lessons, pool rentals, parties, and holiday events.
- Reviewing time clock punches and submitting bi-weekly payroll, ensuring its' accuracy and timeliness.
- Scheduling and arranging swimming lesson weekly schedules, daily classes, private lessons, instructors, and class rosters.
- Monitoring lifeguard staff daily essential duties including opening and closing tasks, chemical checks, cleaning, and positively interacting with members and guests.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
