JOB SUMMARY:
Family & Youth Counseling Agency (Family & Youth) is currently looking for an entry level Coordinator to provide professional staff support and supervision to CASA Volunteers ensuring that children involved with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. Duties include, but are not limited to, volunteer recruitment and supervision, case coordination, and attending court hearings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree requirements: Bachelor's in human services or related field.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
- Knowledge of legal/court system preferred.
- Experience with volunteers, or in volunteer organization preferred.
- Clear appreciation of confidentiality.
- Integrity, honesty and professionalism a must.
- Ability to plan work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform duties individually and in a team work environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a division of Family and Youth Counseling Agency, are volunteers who speak in court for a child’s best interest. Judges appoint a CASA volunteer to an abused or neglected child who has been removed from his or her home. Volunteers are trained and supported by CASA Coordinators to provide advocacy, case management, volunteer training, and education and awareness.
