To best support this, the person who accepts this role is expected to be on site, in office four days per week. The Role
Fanatics is seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to lead a team in managing B2B collections of receivables, with a strong background in invoice-to-cash processes and account management. This role is responsible for overseeing daily workflows, optimizing processes, and enhancing key performance metrics to ensure timely payments, resolve deductions, and mitigate risk and bad debt exposure.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who drives process improvements, fosters collaboration, and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and develop a team of AR Analysts, overseeing account management, collections, and deductions while driving efficiency in invoice-to-cash processes.
- Oversee research and analysis on customer deductions, including shortage claims, pricing differences, and contractual allowances.
- Ensure timely and accurate cash application, working closely with the Cash App team to resolve unapplied payments and discrepancies.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring effective workload distribution to maximize team productivity.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and driving strategies to optimize overall AR performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service to address billing issues, payment delays, and cash application discrepancies.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, proactively addressing concerns to reduce outstanding balances.
- Ensure accurate reporting and compliance, including reviewing and approving adjustments, write-offs, and account reconciliations.
- Identify root causes of billing errors, payment delays, and deductions, implementing proactive solutions to reduce recurring issues.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and minimize manual work.
- Analyze AR trends, provide strategic insights, and deliver detailed reporting to drive informed decision-making.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Support AR initiatives, including onboarding new business lines and implementing process improvements.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field, with 5 years of AR experience.
- 3 years of people management experience, including team leadership, coaching, and talent development.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (complex formula creations & troubleshooting, macros and VBA, advanced data analysis and modeling, power query, data visualization).
- Excellent storytelling skills (written & oral), with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders to accelerate decision making.
- Proven ability to enhance AR processes, optimize KPIs, and manage collections in a high-volume environment.
- Hybrid role: On-site Monday – Thursday in Tampa; remote work on Fridays.
