What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spec Accounts Receivable position at Fanatics, Inc.?
Essential Job Functions
- Processes orders which involve credit checking customers.
- Communicates credit limits and terms of sale with customers (internal and external).
- Assists customers with questions concerning their accounts and provides customers with documentation when necessary.
- Research disputes and notifies customer service for claim processing.
- Notifies customers of production and shipping holds, follows hold procedures.
- Works cooperatively with internal sales management to accurately maintain accounts.
- Extensive communication with customers regarding past due accounts, which can involve negotiating payment plans.
- Maintains adequate documentation of all collection efforts.
- Codes accounts and maintains documentation of Resale/Exemption Certificates.
- Performs investigative activities when phone numbers are disconnected/mail returned and maintains account accuracy.
- Determines when in-house collection efforts have been exhausted and Collection Agency involvement is necessary.
- Posts customer payments and adjustments
- Scans documents into imaging software.
- Strives to foster a positive working environment with co-workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
High School education, or its equivalent, with courses in business and accounting, plus 2 years of advanced education or related business experience
Software knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word; and ability to learn other programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for use in dealing with customers, co-workers, and other department personnel.
Normal level of mental/visual effort required to perform job duties
Analytical abilities to accurately interpret and record collection information.
Ability to follow and apply credit policies and procedures.
Must possess good keyboarding skills and operate a personal computer.
