Fareway Meat & Grocery is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our retail sales team as a Grocery Clerk. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our grocery department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, answering questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Clean and sanitize the store daily to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and employees alike.
- Operate the Point of Sale system efficiently, handling cash transactions and processing payments accurately.
- Unload products from delivery trucks and stock shelves with products for customers to purchase.
- Price and display product signs correctly, maintaining an organized and visually appealing store environment.
- Sack groceries and provide carry-out service to customers, ensuring their orders are accurate and complete.
- Record and report inventory counts accurately, maintaining an up-to-date record of stock levels.
- Assist all customers with their shopping needs, providing excellent service and building strong relationships with regular customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum age requirement of 14 years old or older.
- Ability to work Saturdays and some evenings, including flexible scheduling.
- Good interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with colleagues and customers.
- Basic math skills are required for handling cash transactions and operating the Point of Sale system.
