Group 6 from $21.23 to $26.67 per hour
Position Purpose: Processes accounts payable and maintains associated vendor and invoice files for the District.
Responsibilities:
Reviews, processes and pays authorized invoices.
Ensures timely entry of data.
Assists with maintenance vendor file including vendor numbers and 1099’s.
Responds to vendor inquiries regarding payments.
Assists with maintaining files of paid and unpaid invoices and purchase orders.
Prepares, verifies and distributes checks and file copies.
Assists with and responds to expenditure questions from District responsibility centers.
Prepares information in response to ad hoc requests for payment histories.
Reviews, verifies and pays staff travel expense reports in accordance with District policies.
Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Graduate or equivalent, plus one to three years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Invoices, packing slips, statements, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and staff.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, sales tax, percentages and other practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
