What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST - LAW FIRM position at Farleigh Wada Witt?
Farleigh Wada Witt, a mid-sized law firm in downtown Portland, is seeking an experienced full-time Accounting Specialist to join our growing team! This position is scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. A hybrid schedule with one day allowed for work from home may be available after successful training completion (90 days or more).
As an Accounting Specialist, you will have the opportunity to be cross trained in several areas of our Law Firm's accounting including:
- Accounts Payables and Receivables
- Collections
- Monthly billing, including e-billing
- Client customer service for billing and payment inquiries (external and internal)
- Quarterly corporate taxes
- Internal controls
- Vendor relations
- Budget preparation and management
- 1099 reporting and vendor management
- Other accounting related tasks or reporting as assigned
We believe in cross training to help our team be the most efficient as possible and allows for opportunities for growth within.
Preferred but not required skills and knowledge for this position are:
- Experience with Perfect Law software
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Law firm experience
- Accounting degree

- Highly accurate proofreading and an excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to contribute to a team-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills and ability follow written or verbal instructions

- 3 years of accounting experience
