Job Summary
*Hybrid-Incumbent must work a percentage of time each week in the Omaha, NE or Fargo, ND office*
We are seeking a senior level, experienced, and highly motivated Corporate Accounting Specialist that will be responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial reporting by providing general ledger accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regulations and IRS requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry processing and analytical review of financial statements throughout close.
- Solution for complex accounting issues with minimal supervision.
- Manage shared accounting processes for the Collaboration, including analysis of shared and specific liabilities for each Association, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
- Complete key monthly and quarterly transaction validations to support information received from System partners.
- Complete payroll and benefits accounting processes for the Associations, including coordination with Human Resources and Compensation team, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Farm Credit Foundations.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing, accurate account classifications, and timely resolution of issues.
- Assist in the operating expense PCA/FLCA allocation process.
- Propel the achievement of team goals by identifying and implementing scalable process improvements from an operational and technical perspective.
- Maintain and implement internal controls necessary to ensure integrity of data used for preparation of financial reports.
- Support work of accounting teammates to ensure various subledgers are maintained and amortization schedules are accurate, including fixed assets, leases and prepaid accounts.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Banking and/or Finance.
Certification and Technical Requirements
- .Professional certification desired: CPA or CMA.
- GAAP knowledge
- Multi-entity accounting experience and complex transaction experience is desired
- Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and cloud-based systems.
Years of Experience
6 years working in a general accounting environment, including large enterprise reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable and fixed asset systems.
CPA/CMA designation preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), chart of accounts structure and concepts, and regulatory requirements.
Multi-entity accounting experience and complex transaction experience is desired.
