The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of human resources activities within the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with labor laws, handling employee relations, administering benefits, coordinating recruitment & onboarding efforts, and providing support for day-to-day HR operations.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Administer various human resource plans and procedures; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
2. Assist in identifying training needs and coordinate development programs.
3. Build relationships with job related schools & technical schools and attend job fairs as needed.
4. Oversee intern program
5. Participate in and oversee the new employee orientation program and onboarding software.
6. Respond to employee inquiries and concerns regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, and programs. Participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues. Anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
7. Work directly with managers/supervisors to assist them with employee issues, and provide guidance and education regarding human resources practices, disciplinary procedures, and legal compliance.
8. Coordinate the daily administration of other HR services including but not limited to transfers, EEO compliance, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, training, employee relations, and special functions.
9. Terminate employees as necessary & manage state unemployment program.
10. Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports and spreadsheets, including staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, applicant tracking, exit interviews, survey feedback etc.
11. Participate in the annual benefits open enrollment process. Assist with communicating changes to employees and processing enrollment forms.
12. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management. Identify trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interpret appropriate laws and policies and advise management and employees accordingly.
13. Conduct training and department informational meetings as required and maintain appropriate documentation. Participate in the development of communications and training materials.
14. Provide first aid and initial treatment of injuries. In conjunction with the Safety Manager, conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases. Work with the Safety Manager and departments to implement improvements to reduce safety hazards and health risks.
15. Support Payroll as needed
16. Participate in and assist in planning wellness events & company functions/activities.
17. Stay up-to-date with changes in labor laws and best HR practices.
18. Perform other comparable and related duties, as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ø Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or closely related field plus two
years of HR related experience or 4-6 years of combined experience in field.
Ø PHR a plus
Ø Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ø Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration.
Ø Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
Ø Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Good judgment and strong problem resolution skills.
Ø Ability to resolve conflict & remain impartial during investigations or mediation.
Ø Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
Ø Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ø Strong Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Ø Experience with HRIS
Ø Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
Ø Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
