The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting boilers, steam systems, and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, preventive maintenance schedules, and operational procedures to support production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor boilers, steam generators, and related equipment to maintain optimal pressure and temperature levels.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to prevent equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Record and analyze boiler readings, adjusting controls as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues, coordinating repairs when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of boiler operations.
- Assist with energy conservation initiatives and system improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in boiler operations preferred.
- State or local boiler operator license (if required).
- Experience in boiler operation, maintenance, or a related industrial environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and lifting heavy objects.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment: Required to access the poultry production environment. Must be able to tolerate the varying heat, wet, and chill of the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment required in the production area. Required to wear hair and beard nets in the production area
