Job Description
This position performs a variety of tasks involving light labor in the maintenance, care, and cleaning of buildings, facilities, and grounds of company facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

(Duties assigned include, but are not limited to, the following examples. Removing garbage from various areas in the plant
- Will assist with routine electrical plumbing, and construction maintenance as needed.
- Make minor repairs to toilets, faucets, sinks, etc.
- Perform external building maintenance such as painting, pressure washing, etc.
- Replace burned out light bulbs.
- Perform maintenance painting.
- Adjust, clean, and oil equipment and change attachments.
- Inventory, order, and refill equipment and cleaning materials needed to do the work.
- Move and set up furniture.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other PIT’s as required.
- Perform grounds maintenance and care such as pruning shrubs, mowing, pulling weeds, and sweeping steps and walkways. Snow removal.
- Operate and maintain power equipment such as chain saws, pressure washers, various lawn equipment, etc.
- Operate power cleaning equipment such as a buffer, sweeper, and vacuum cleaners.
- Wash windows, blinds, walls and ceilings.
- Deliver UPS packages to departments in the plant facility.
- Parts Room cleanup
Skills and Knowledge
- General knowledge of building principles and practices.
- Knowledge of safety rules including OSHA rules to avoid injury to self and others or damage to equipment.
- Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance methods and equipment on a large scale.
- Skill in general painting and staining.
- Skill in electrical and plumbing.
- Skill in the use of power tools including table, radial arm, power and skill saws; drills; grinders; sanders; power hammers; generators; air compressors; and power augers.
- Skill in performing minor maintenance on equipment.
- Skill in operating, cleaning, and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Skill in using appropriate cleaning products.
- Able to follow established routines.
- Able to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Able to read signs and directions.
- Able to adjust to changes in priorities and work well under pressure.
- Able to manage time efficiently.
- Able to have the physical strength to withstand the strain of performing manual tasks for extended periods.
- Able to meet and deal courteously with other employees and the public.
Qualifications
Any satisfactory combination of experience, education, and training which demonstrates the ability to perform the work described may be substituted for the above. Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license at the time of appointment and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Work is performed both inside and outside. It can involve bending, climbing, kneeling, heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, stooping, extended periods of standing and walking, fine hand and arm motor skills, and exposure to cleaning and landscaping chemicals. Must have good or corrected vision and color vision.
