POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall management and administration of the trust function. Develops, updates and implements trust policies, procedures, and objectives.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ACCOUNTABILITY 1:
Determines the overall direction of the Trust Department by implementing the Bank's objectives and defining the means for their attainment. Develops policies, procedures, and objectives. Communicates objectives and policies to the management team. Develops procedures to monitor the compliance with established policies and procedures. Manages risk.
ACCOUNTABILITY 2:
Engages in business development activities by maintaining business and social contacts to develop new trust relationships and to deepen existing relationships. Manages personal and corporate trust business to achieve profit goals of the Bank and to provide quality service and outcomes for customers that result in enduring trust relationships.
ACCOUNTABILITY 3:
Serves as the fiduciary expert for trust and estate administration relationships. Develops, interprets, and communicates estate planning strategy and services to a diverse client base. Recommends tax planning opportunities and prepares analyses. Coordinates and reviews trust agreements. Works with clients, accountants, attorneys, and other intermediaries as a point of contact for book of business.
ACCOUNTABILITY 4:
Coordinates and manages trust investments for all types of trust accounts. Reviews individual securities in each trust account periodically to ensure that these investments meet the intent and objectives of the trust. Recommends investment strategy and action.
ACCOUNTABILITY 5:
Reviews and maintains complete and accurate records. Administers trust in accordance with the will or trust agreements, Bank policies, and banking regulations.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engages in professional development activities to remain abreast of banking regulations and industry opportunities and challenges
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance or banking or equivalent education experience
- 5 years of trust experience administering accounts
- CFP, CTFA, or JD preferred but not required
- Demonstrated strong understanding of the legal framework of trust administration and financial markets
- Demonstrated experience and ability in making executive and daily operating decisions
- Professional image that is appropriate and maintained
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Sets strong ethical standards with integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness in all professional relationships
- Listen, interpret, gather objective information, negotiate, and inspire confidence
