Schedule: Day shift for 4 months before transitioning into a long-term 2nd shift schedule as a Plant Maintenance Technician

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install various types of equipment with progressive levels of independence
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives
Work towards becoming both an independent and team contributor to the maintenance department
Maintain, troubleshoot, and service all material handling and production equipment in all areas of the facility
Operate bobcats, forklifts, farm tractors, bucket trucks, boom trucks, and aerial lifts
Correctly operate welders, acetylene torches, and air plasma cutters
Maintain all liquid (water, grease, or oil) distribution systems
Record data and analyze information to determine inconsistencies that may require corrective action
Correctly operate and maintain equipment and tools required for fabrication and maintenance
General housekeeping duties, including painting and/or scrubbing with detergent solutions
Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or higher
Experience in a manufacturing environment with a mechanical and/or electrical discipline, preferred
Ability to meet expectations of 30-, 60-, 90- and 120-day plan and continue to show progress on maintenance knowledge, skills, and tool/equipment use
Pass skills evaluations at months 2, 3, and 4 and transition into a Plant Maintenance Technician at the end of month 4
Occasionally push and/or pull heavy objects (approx. 200 lbs. max)
Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. from floor to waist level
Frequently bend at the waist and/or knees
Frequently climb stairs and/or ladders (up to 40 ft.)
Ability to distinguish colors (i.e., wire codes)
Tolerance of varying environmental conditions – heat, cold, and/or wet and slippery conditions
Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers and follow written and/or verbal instructions
Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, operator manuals, service manuals, and wiring schematics associated with the maintenance and/or operation of instruments and equipment
Accurately perform basic mathematical skills
Ability to work varying shifts or extra hours on short notice to fill in for absent co-worker, accommodate a heavier than normal workload, or to assist with special projects
