Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our high-volume and fast-paced Food and Beverage Operations team as a Banquet & Event Bartender! Our bartenders consistently deliver high-quality service to our members and their guests in a friendly, professional manner. The ideal candidate has a background in serving and/or bartending and is looking to give members and their guests fantastic service. An ideal Banquet & Event Bartender candidate is available weekends & evenings, looking to work 1-3 shifts a week, and is comfortable working both inside and outside events throughout our variety of event spaces across the club. The Banquet & Event department is one that is fast-paced and sees many different styles of events throughout the week. Our team is responsible for the set-up, service, and breakdown of all events that take place at the club; most importantly, we are responsible for creating a personable and exceptional experience for our members and their guests. Over the course of the year, we execute a variety of events, including golf and tennis tournaments, rehearsal dinners, weddings, conferences, wine dinners, kid’s birthday parties and more! Working in the Banquet & Event department is a great opportunity to see a lot of the club, be hands-on with day-to-day operations, and gain experience working on event execution. Being a part of this active and engaging team is a great way to experience employment in private country clubs.
Job Summary
Banquet & Event Bartenders uphold and execute one of the most critical components in Farmington Country Club’s mission statement – that is, to professionally engage with our members and guests, and to provide them with the highest quality of service. The Banquet Bartender position is one that
is fast paced and involves constant customer interaction. The basic duties will be setting up banquet bars, working in a professional and responsible manner, and breaking down bars at the end of the shift, but the most important responsibility is to satisfy our members’ needs and wants and to exceed the members’ expectations.
Schedule And Pay
The schedule for Banquet & Event Bartenders changes depending on events booked for the week. Typically, there are more evening shifts available throughout the week, but in busier weeks there are morning shifts available as well.
Banquet & Event Bartenders are paid $20/hour. Banquet & Event Bartenders also receive a “bar set up” bonus for any banquet-style bars they set up. There are occasionally some bars that this bonus does not apply to.

Job Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of event beer, wine and liquor, including tasting notes
- Be knowledgeable about drink recipes, cocktails, and wine pairings to provide excellent service
- Accurately prepare and serve drinks for members and guests in a timely and efficient manner
- Follow event-specific drink orders and ensure consistency in presentation and quality.
- Follow detailed checklists for setting up and breaking down bar areas to ensure a smooth operation
- Ensure all necessary supplies, tools, and equipment are ready for service at the start of each event
- At the end of each shift, return all alcohol to the designated liquor cage, ensuring proper storage, rotation of stock, and securing all alcohol under lock and key
- Maintain neat, organized, and fully stocked beverage storage areas, and proactively manage inventory needs
- Notify the Beverage Manager or Event Manager(s) of supply and inventory requirements
- Assist with quarterly glassware inventory counts and assist with inventory management as needed
- Engage with members and guests in a friendly, professional manner and communicate any guest comments, feedback, or special requests to the Beverage Manager or Event Manager(s)
- Ensure all guest interactions reflect the high service standards of the club
- Support the wait staff and banquet team with general clean-up duties after events, ensuring the bar area is properly broken down and cleaned at the end of the event
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Strictly adhere to Virginia ABC laws and regulations for responsible alcohol service
- Card anyone who appears to be under the age of 30 when ordering alcoholic beverages
- Complete and pass the TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification within three months of hire
- Complete training period with Event Bar Lead to ensure proficiency in drink preparation.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be available nights & weekends and looking to work 1-3 shifts per week
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days and weekends
- Previous bartender experience highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team and provide exceptional service to members and guests
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-paced environment
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours consecutively
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
