Description
Camp Counselors will be responsible for providing a fun and safe environment, looking after the well being of the campers, and adhering to the camp schedule. In addition, Camp Counselors will maintain a high level of customer service, professionalism, creativity, and organizational skills throughout the camp day.

- Work as part of a team to ensure quality service and a positive camp environment
- Follow all facility rules to ‘set the standard’ for the patrons
- Establish and maintain good customer service and provide assistance in a courteous manner at all times
- Convey a professional image through a positive attitude and proper attire
Responsibilities:
- Display a friendly, helpful, and cooperative manner to all participants, their families, and fellow employees
- Ensure the safety of all participants, and be proactive in preventing accidents
- Respond quickly to all emergency situations, including administration of emergency care to any person injured while participating in camp, and assist in the completion of the accident and/or incident report
- Follow camp policy and use appropriate behavior modification techniques to address challenging behavior, when necessary
- Follow the camp daily schedule so that activities begin at their scheduled time
- Ensure camper’s safety while moving about the property
- Help prepare and implement activities and crafts with head camp counselors
- Actively participate in the implementation of Summer Camp activities
- Supervise campers during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up
- Serve lunch, and encourage healthy eating habits
- Maintain safe and sanitary facility conditions using daily checklists to ensure camp runs in compliance with state regulations
- Assist other departments when necessary including but not limited to: fitness, aquatics, youth and special events, golf and tennis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Programs Manager, Assistant Youth Programs Manager or Head Camp Counselor
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience working with groups of children ages 4-12 years
- Valid First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certifications
- Available to attend all training sessions
- Available to work Monday through Friday for the duration of camp
- Demonstrated communication and leadership skills
