Do you want to build a practical foundation of pastry skills while working toward the highest levels of the Pastry Arts profession? If so, Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for you to join our culinary team as a Pastry Cook! Our Pastry Cooks are responsible for the daily production of various sweet creations, including breakfast pastries, desserts, and other baked goods, under the guidance of our renowned Executive Pastry Chef, Charles Zimmerman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and provide a wide range of sweet creations, including breakfast pastries, desserts, and other baked goods for à la carte outlets and Event Operations, as requisitioned or requested by chefs.
- Maintain sanitation and food-handling practices in accordance with Club and Health Department standards.
- Adhere to State, Local, and Club health and safety regulations.
- Work alongside and learn from experienced and knowledgeable chefs, including Executive Pastry Chef Charles Zimmerman.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen.
- Ensure all food items are properly stored and handled.
Qualifications
- Previous pastry experience is not required but is a plus.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required.
- Passion for pastry arts and a creative approach to baking.
