Description
Responsible for assisting the Head Swim Coach with developing a competitive swim program while ensuring a safe and engaging environment during the Summer swim team season (May-August). This role helps shape young athletes both in and out of the pool.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct practices under Head Coach's direction, focusing on age-appropriate training and proper technique
- Maintain active engagement with swimmers, providing continuous feedback and encouragement
- Help prepare meet lineups and manage meet software systems
- Assist with meet setup, operation, and cleanup
- Participate in team social events and spirit activities
- Support team communication efforts
- Promote safety and proper equipment use
- Help distribute awards and maintain team records
Holiday and Meet Requirements:
- Availability for all scheduled swim meets is required
- Championship meet attendance is mandatory
- Holiday practice coverage will be coordinated with coaching staff
Qualifications
- Minimum age of sixteen (16) years
- Strong swimming background and technique knowledge
- High-energy, enthusiastic personality
- Demonstrated ability to work with children of all ages and abilities
- Professional communication skills
- High level of organizational ability
- Detail-oriented mindset
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Understanding of competitive swimming
Required Certifications (Don't worry - we can help you get these!):
- Coaches Safety Training Certification
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training or equivalent
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- Infant/Child CPR
- AED Training
Preferred Certifications:
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
