Job Summary:
The Prevention Community Coalition Manager’s primary responsibilities are to facilitate and support the prevention efforts of the Coalition with a focus on education across Oswego County, reducing stigma and providing resources to community members and to family and friends affected by SUD.
Supports the general day to day activities and organization of the Coalition, working towards established goals and supporting the execution of the 12-month action plans. This position leads. activities including community needs assessment, capacity building, planning, implementing, data collection and evaluating activities associated with the action plan in accordance with the SPF model of prevention. The Manager will guide the Coalition to develop and implement.
strategies that will lead to long term involvement of community institutions, organizations and individuals.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
To support all activities associated with the Coalition as directed by the Coalition Coordinator and General /Subcommittee members, to include but not limited to the following:
• Guide the Coalition to develop and implement strategies that lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in substance use prevention.
• Researches, leads, and organizes community need assessment efforts and contributes to the development of action plans to meet identified needs.
• Conduct and submit a community readiness assessment.
• Research, develop and implement Environmental Change Strategies (ECS) that focus on media, enforcement, and policy in alignment with Community Coalition initiatives.
• Conduct and submit the Coalition capacity checklist and prepare a capacity building plan.
• Collaborate and work closely with the health department administrators, legislators, heads of health plans, hospitals, physicians’ health organizations, related businesses, academic institutions, and community-based organizations to promote coalition’s mission and goals.
• Continuously evaluate coalition effectiveness and coalition strategic plan utilizing SAMHSA’s SPF model, Data Management Plan (DMP), and process/outcome evaluations
• Work closely with Data and Grants Coordinator to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of data related to process and outcomes measures for Coalition activities.
• Event planning, supporting Coalition activities, social media support.
• Meeting scheduling/support, co-facilitating portions of the Coalition agenda, recording meeting minutes and distributing to Coalition members, managing email correspondence and other mailings.
• Develop training, reference materials, and workshops for coalition and community members and coalition activities.
• Continually develop and maintain content for the coalition website and social media in conjunction with the communications subcommittee.
• Soliciting vendors/donations
• Tracking Coalition activities and preparing reports for stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Maintain confidentiality of agency business, clients, records, and reports.
• Tracking Coalition activities and preparing reports for stakeholder.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's and relevant experience in public policy, public health, health education, administration, policy/ planning, or in community/ organizational psychology; OR
• Associates with 3-5 years’ experience in managing or coordinating a community-based public health or health related agency experience could be substituted for an advanced degree.
• Competent in basic qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, familiarity and comfort with reporting outcomes in web-based systems.
• Ability to work in complex environment with poise and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of SAMHSA’s SPF preferred.
