Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive HR Generalist with a strong foundation in human resources functions. The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, assisting in employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and other HR-related activities. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on HR experience and a four-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
    • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating offers.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring smooth and effective integration into the organization.  
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and inquiries, ensuring a positive work environment.
    • Assist in resolving workplace issues, conflicts, or grievances, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Performance Management:
    • Support the performance review process, including coordinating evaluations and tracking employee progress.
    • Assist in identifying training and development needs and work with management to implement solutions.
  • Compliance & Policy Management:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
    • Experience working with worker’s compensation claims, disability, paid family leave, and FMLA. 
    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
    • Perform credentialing tasks.
    • Track employee required trainings.
    • Assist with managing the Employee Handbook. 

 

  • Compensation & Benefits:
    • Assist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
    • Assist with benefit planning, open enrollment, and assist employees with benefits inquiries.
    • Manage employee timecards and process bi-weekly payroll. 
  • Employee Engagement & Retention:
    • Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.
    • Assist in the development of retention strategies, identifying opportunities to improve employee satisfaction.
  • HR Reporting & Analytics:
    • Compile HR-related data and prepare reports for leadership on topics such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee engagement.
    • Assist in tracking key HR metrics and trends to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience in the areas listed above. 
    • Experience with recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS (Human Resource Information System) software. Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
    • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges and opportunities. A collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.

 

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
    • Experience with employee engagement programs or HR analytics tools
