Farnsworth Group is seeking a Survey Crew Chief in one of the below posting locations.  In this role, qualified candidates will perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout. This is not a contract position; we are looking to fill a permanent position where you will have the opportunity to establish or advance your career.  We will consider a candidate throughout the state of Indiana
 
Posting Location(s) for this role: Indianapolis, IN and Statewide IN
 
Job Activities:
  • Perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys in accordance with the current ALTA/ NSPS Minimum Standard Detail Requirements for ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Perform topographic surveys of small sites to large farm surveys with ATV’s
  • Conduct Construction Layout for site development, commercial/ retail, residential, industrial/ warehouse, subdivisions, municipal and transportation
  • Perform As-Built Pipeline Surveys
  • Perform 3D Scanning, UAV and drone surveys
Specific Requirements include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of property surveys, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, and Construction Layout
  • Proficiency with Trimble GPS, Total Station and Data Collectors
  • Mentors staff, participates in training, and prioritizes Farnsworth’s Safety Culture
  • Communicates with their supervisor or project manager on a consistent, daily basis
  • Ability to organize field notes
  • Ability to read construction plans
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a Team setting
  • Experience performing Boundary Research, preferred
  • Ability to execute field staking
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to travel 80% required in this position
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable under company insurance
  • Ability to work outside in a wide variety of weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to regularly lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/ or move up to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications:
  • PLSS monumentation retracement experience
  • Oil & Gas Pipeline experience
  • DOT experience
  • UAV license
  • FAA 107 license
  • LSIT or PLS license a plus
