What are the responsibilities and job description for the Probate Paralegal position at Farr Law Firm P.A.?
Farr Law is seeking a full-time Probate Paralegal in Venice, Florida. This position works independently, under the supervision of an attorney, in all aspects of estate and trust administration, including court filings and meeting deadlines, asset gathering and transfers, and communications with investment advisors, trust companies, and clients.
TYPICAL DAY
- Client communication: Assisting clients through the probate process and reviewing their financial information
- Document preparation: Preparing documents and files for attorneys
- Asset liquidation: Helping to collect and liquidate the deceased's assets
- Creditors' claims: Reviewing creditors' claims against the estate
- Estate tax returns: Preparing estate tax returns
JOB EXPECTATIONS
- In-office work only; no remote work
- 8:30 am – 5 pm; Monday – Friday (lunch 12-1 pm)
- Some overtime may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
- Superior client service skills, as this position works directly with clients and trust beneficiaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with computers and able to learn new programs quickly
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook and Word
- Previous experience in Estate Planning as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Knowledge of fiduciary accountings is beneficial
- Experience as a Probate Paralegal preferred but not required
- Florida Registered Paralegals are preferred but not necessary
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree is helpful but not essential
