Farris Construction Company seeks a skilled Commercial Construction Estimator to be based out of our headquarters in Dahlonega, GA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in estimating Big Box/Retail and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather first-hand information from clients via prebid meetings.
- Call required subcontractors to obtain information and bids.
- Develop sub-bases for adequate bid coverage.
- Obtain quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
- Qualify bids.
- Create projects in our estimating software.
- Create budgets.
- Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers etc.).
- Set up project sites with required equipment, containers, etc.
Skill Requirements:
- Organizational skills are essential.
- Current market pricing knowledge is required.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Thoroughness and reliability.
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as self-motivated.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Commercial construction experience is mandatory.
