What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance position at Farrow?
Position Summary
The Finance Intern will support the finance department by assisting with various day to day including bank reconciliations, journal entries, processing accounts payable, ad hoc report analysis and assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities (Supervisory/Materials/Information)
Assist finance department with reconciling daily cash transactions with third-party vendor.
Assist with preparing monthly journal entries, reconcile corresponding accounts and assist with month-end close duties.
Support vendor accounts and coordinate with the Accounts Payable lead to resolve past-due balances.
Assist finance department with preparing financial reports including ad hoc analysis.
Provide day-to-day assistance as required to all companies and departments.
Undertake various project assignments as required.
Any other related duties as assigned by the Finance Controller, & Manager, Accounting
Education and Experience
Working towards a post-secondary degree in accounting or finance
Core curriculum in accounting or finance completed (Preferred)
Competencies, Working Skills & Attributes
Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer systems and related software including Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) is also required
Extremely strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communications
Must have strong problem-solving capabilities
Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work
Working Conditions, Mental Effort & Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for extended periods while auditing and/or entering data.
Ability to focus on computer screens and/or written materials for extended periods.
Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely and efficient manner
