POSITION PROFILE

This position assists the shipping and receiving manager in the workflow of shipping and receiving products and the supporting responsibilities. It is responsible for assisting in the duties involved in receiving material, shipping product, and managing shipping supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The shipping and receiving manager will assign responsibilities and tasks as necessary to achieve company goals and objectives. Below are responsibilities that may be assigned. Other duties and tasks may be assigned as necessary by the manger.

Receiving:

  • Unpacks, inspects, and counts receivables to verify the part number, and quantity match the supplier documentation.
  • Notifies shipping manager of any component or material damage, quantity or part number discrepancies with supplier documentation.
  • Labels receiving components and material with Fasse part numbers and delivers the receivables to be inventoried.
  • Notifies shipping manager when RMAs (Return Material Authorization) are received and delivers them for processing.

Shipping:

  • Performs tasks that prepare components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods for timely delivery.
  • Accomplishes the main objective: Shipping the right product to the right customer at the right time.
  • Uses computer software, including Epicor and shipping software to download orders and record shipping transactions.
  • Supports Fasse sales in tracking product shipments to customer facility.

Staging:

  • Performs tasks that are necessary to ship product from facility.
  • Transform cardboard boxes to receive product ready for shipment.
  • Visually inspecting product before placing into shipping boxes.
  • Secure product in shipping boxes to prevent damage while in transit.
  • Generate necessary shipping labels and documents required by the shipping company, customer and Fasse for domestic and international delivery.
  • Sets up and prepares pallet shipments for larger orders.

Kitting:

  • Kit and package designated products for expedited shipments.
  • Ensure all required components and subassemblies are readily available at point of use.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be able to accomplish the assigned duties and responsibilities with little supervision or oversight.
  • Working knowledge of basic shipping and receiving processes and workflow.
  • Be able to work in a team environment, develop working relationships, foster a positive professional atmosphere.
  • Participate in accomplishing company and team goals and objectives.
  • Be organized, efficient, and clean in your work area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • This position requires no experience in shipping or receiving.
  • This position requires a GED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and understand company documents like sales orders, shipping documents, job travelers, and invoices.
  • Ability to express concepts and ideas clearly and understandably through written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
  • Ability to effectively present information and dialogue with managers, peers, and employees.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Required to sit, stand, use hands, handle, or feel, and talk and hear.
  • Lift and or move up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Good near and far color vision.
  • Operate the shipping and receiving equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The primary working environment is the shipping and receiving areas in the production department. On occasion, responsibilities do require working outside on the loading dock. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklifts and power tools (pneumatic and electric). The noise level in the work environment is usually human conversation level.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
