About the Role:
The Orthopedic Provider (Family Nurse Practitioner/FNP/APRN) will work in a team-oriented environment, committed to delivering exceptional patient care, skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, and provide comprehensive care from diagnosis through rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose fractures using clinical evaluation and imaging studies.
- Administer non-surgical fracture reductions.
- Monitor and manage the healing process, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Perform joint aspirations to diagnose conditions such as joint effusions or infections.
- Administer intra-articular injections for pain relief and inflammation reduction using ultrasound.
- Apply casts, splints, or orthopedic bracing to stabilize and immobilize various musculoskeletal conditions.
- Ensure proper alignment and immobilization of injured body parts.
- Educate patients on cast care and potential complications.
- Review and interpret X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other imaging studies.
- Collaborate with radiologists and orthopedic surgeons to develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Determine whether surgical or non-operative approaches are most appropriate.
- Provide patients with detailed information about their orthopedic conditions.
- Offer guidance on home exercises, physical therapy, and activity modifications.
- Address patient questions and concerns, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and rehabilitation.
- Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver excellent patient care through in-patient and virtual diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations with attention to patient-centric care, safety, cost, and reliably accurate information.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with new technologies and protocols in a quickly evolving practice setting.
- Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
