Direct Hire Opportunity – Lead Maintenance Technician
Location: Jackson, MI
Pay Rate: $30.00–$35.00 per hour (Direct Hire)

Position Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician for a direct hire role in Jackson, MI. This hybrid role involves hands-on maintenance and repair work as well as leadership and direction for a small team. You’ll work on a variety of industrial equipment and utility systems in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair (Hands-On):
- Review work orders and prioritize daily assignments.
- Perform mechanical and electrical repair, installation, and maintenance on machines, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate with Purchasing and outside vendors for parts and service.
- Troubleshoot utility systems (air, power, etc.) for uninterrupted plant operations.
- Adhere to and help enforce company safety regulations and protocols.
- Personally perform and assist with complex equipment repairs as needed.
Leadership Duties:
- Supervise and delegate daily tasks to maintenance team members.
- Provide training and mentorship to support technicians.
- Ensure team compliance with safety programs, quality standards, and company policies.
- Document and report attendance, safety incidents, and near misses.
- Foster a positive, team-focused environment.
Required Tools & Equipment:
- All essential tooling is provided, though employees may bring their own tools if preferred.
- Safety glasses and steel toe boots are required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
- Proven experience with CNC machinery including Fanuc, Mardea, Barton Olivers, Haas, DMC, and Swiss.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Comfortable reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
- Electrician certification or background.
- Journeyman’s Card or completion of a registered apprenticeship program.
- Experience with printed circuit boards and automation troubleshooting.
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting.
- Exposure to heat, noise, fumes, dust, oil, coolant, and confined spaces.
- Work in both production and occasional office environments.
